Display Your Jewels

Last week I posted about the cute cats at the Selby , this week it's on accessories

How do you display your jewellery? I used to hang mine on a notice board like this... but dust was always a bit of an issue & the metal/silver sometimes changes too quick and needs to be thrown away

So I was out looking for a clear jewellery box as it ususally takes me a while to find a necklace if I can't see it, yes my memory is that bad! I love the range they have at Muji, great quality and lots of flexibility!

I'm off to London shopping for the day, since moving back home, London is only a 50 mins train ride away! :)

love the idea of a clear jewelry box. I'll find a piece that I haven't worn in awhile and be surprised.

oh, you've inspired me to rearrange my jewelery with all of these wonderful ideas. i especially like the one for sunglasses!

I currently hang my jewelery on a hand towel rack (with hooks) made for the kitchen which works pretty well other than the reason you listed...dust. I think I'll be on the lookout for a clear bin now!

thanks for sharing! :)

For my necklaces, I hang then over this exact thing:

I love it! It's so perfect!

And then for my dangly earrings, I bought a pretty cutlery organiser and stood it up on it's head, and hang the earrings from each bar. It looks great!

Have fun in London! so lucky, I want to go there so bad!!
And the jewelry looks so lovely. I'm such a mess with jewelry. Those clear boxes look genius....

I found vintage tennis rackets and hung them on nails on the wall and hooked all my earrings through the holes. It worked very nicely!
Recently I've seen small suitcases being used for jewelry, it's a cute idea as well

A clear jewelry box is such a good idea! Although I must say that I liked the way the jewelry was displayed by being hung in the mortar in the brick wall.

Love the white tree displaying the bangles.

I display my hats and necklaces like so: http://www.alreadypretty.com/2009/07/clothes-as-decor.html

You have many beautiful pieces :) I kept mine in boxes and wrapped them individually in plastic.not very flattering look-wise,but I found I could preserve most of them for many many years agains rust, discoloration n such :)

I love that tree shaped stand! I just keep my jewelry in a box - it makes it easy when I'm moving from home to school and back again. But I do hang some necklaces from a bulletin board in my room!

I especially love the idea of stringing up a scarf to hang my sunglasses from. I never know where to put my sunglasses for safe-keeping when I'm not wearing this. Fabulous idea! :)

however you want to said...

i should try that (jewellery box)..though i haven't got that big amount of jewelry :)

Good ideas. I never really had any ways to store my jewelery. I'm going to try the cork board.

Great ideas, I really need to get my jewelry organized because its in such piles I end up not wearing things because I can't see them. Thats my weekend plan, get organized!

I've done the push-pin thing on the wall before, but I feel like I need something better for my necklaces. Thanks for posting on this because I need to find something before I move back to school!

Love the accessories!

Oh I love that idea! I made myself a little wooden hanger for my jewelry, but I agree they get discolored so fast! (Luckily almost everything I have is sterling and so all it needs is a jewelry cleaner bath... I just haven't gotten around to it T_T;). I am definitely going to check out the boxes!

love the noticeboard idea. great way to display your jewelry as an art exhibit.
I hang my necklaces on a branch that I stick in a vase. I filled the vase with glass stones so it can hold the branch in place.

really inspirational post. but yes, displaying them out in the open is always nice to look at but the dust really does bug me!

Hey, I have the exact same boxes from Muji for storing accessories! :D I am a Muji fan. Btw, I love all the images you share on your blog, especially the interior deco ones!

I always love posts like that.

This is what I do with my jewelry, I know it's a little chaotic.

You have wonderful ideas! I love your blog, it is so whimsical!

I found a little shelf with pegs under it for my necklaces. I store purfume on the shelf above the pegs. For my earrings, I found a frame that love and nailed fine wire mesh to the back of the frame. I hang my earrings inside of the beautiful frame. It is super cute and I get tons of compliments on it :)

Cute pictures, cool jewelry box, I have one just like that :)

Cara said...

My favourite is the picture with all the necklaces pinned onto the wall..
But personally I simply keep my jewels in two small boxes (which I don't like). I plan to cover an old wooden frame with canvas to display my earrings, but I haven't got the time yet...

I'm slightly confused, did you say you throw silver away if it discolours? But you can clean it!
(I like your jewellery)
