Spring through a Polaroid

Spring seen through a Polaroid, so delicate, soft yet real.

Does anyone know how much a Polaroid cost these days? Would I have to buy it from Ebay?

Lovely photos, you can recreate the polaroid effect on photoshop if you play around a little-I took the images on my very first blogpost with a pro digital camera but was able to transform them as such, let me know if you wanna give it a try and need any tips.

It depends on what kind of Polaroid camera you are after.
In my opinion the best kind is a Polaroid SX 70 and they will set you back between $65-$200.
You can use 600 film with them with a couple of lil modifications.
I adore mine.
You can get a Spectra System or a peel apart camera which are a bit trickier to use. I have both as well.
Film for peel apart is still available but 60 is slowly diminishing.
However, there is hope!

If you decide to buy one, feel free to email me for advice and help. :)

These are so so lovely!

Must dig out the old polaroid camera I have somewhere (it's one from the 90s as opposed to a really cool one!)

These photos are so beautiful, I just can't get over it!!

I've been looking into purchasing a Pola myself, and while you can find various cameras on Ebay for not too much, it's the discontinued film that'll really set you back--at least $1 PER PHOTO, and that's a minimum.

Such pretty pics, I love the strawberries!

Ah! Everyone's beat me to answering your question re: polaroids (cheap camera, expensive film). These pics are gorge! Woo hoo! Thanks for letting me know I won the competition recently, 'tis midnight (was away for a 3 day weekend), but will check out the store, and let you know the details ;) THANK YOU SO SO MUCH! Am so excited! :)

I have a polaroid camera, you get them pretty cheap on ebay or flea markets. But it's hard to find film, because they stopped producing it... :(

so pretty. i'll miss polaroid, i stocked up on as much film as possible when I heard they were discontinuing them.
i know poladroid isn't the same, but its at least something!

Sorry, I don't know much about them. But there's something so nastalgic about polaroids. Reminds me of my mom for some reason?!?!

Gorgeous pictures!!!!

I'm not sure of the cost, but ebay would probably give you a better idea. It's always a good start.

I might need to pull my polaroid out from the dusty shelf. xxx

Sadly the oldschool polaroids are a dying breed. They don't make the film for them anymore. Wahhhhh! Holga cameras are great too, though. They have a real washed out, ethereal look to them.

Ms. Jenn said...

I want a polaroid too! I wonder what happened to all the old ones we had lying around at my house. They've disappeared. Of course, for now I'll just have to use the poladroid tool.

Their is something so charming about a Polaroid picture. This is quite a nice collection you've rounded up!

You can buy on Ebay but they are pricey. You can also buy them on Amazon (new!) about the same price, and i think that is a better deal because at least you are getting it new. the film on average used to cost $1 a picture, now it's about $8-10!! For my wedding registry, I said I wanted a lot of polaroid film, and i got it enough to last me! it's been a year later and i still have more than enough film.
I also noticed that expired film is cheaper but it also comes out "dreamier".
//sorry for the long comment! hope it helps//

Milly. said...

Oh I'd so love a Polaroid camera! :(
Yes - ebay i think but they're probably getting really expensive as they're now a 'rare item'.
Other issue is the fact that they've stopped making the film and paper stuff for them :'(

They'll get rid of film next!

Stupid digital world...might be helpful but it gets rid of some of the beautiful things in life.

I want to get a polaroid as well! I checked on ebay and they were pretty cheap, but as far as I know the problem comes when you have to get film, because it is much more expensive and hard to find.. let me know if you find any good deal :)

Makes me wish I still had my Polaroid. Who knew it would be a retro classic!

Rachel said...

The cameras are pretty cheap and easy to come by, but the price of the film will leave you breathless! I rarely take them anymore because it's so pricey.

I'm about to list a polariod 600 camera on ebay. Drop me a line on my blog if you're interested!

I actually just met a blogger gal this weekend and she had this portable printer that printed out smaller polaroids from her DSLR. The pic was smaller than the regular sized polaroids, but bigger than those Izone pics. Does anyone remember the Izone mini polaroid cams? She said she bought her printer in Japan.

Its already been said but yeah the cameras are fairly cheap on ebay - its the film that's expensive. I've looked into buying one myself but I just don't think I could afford to use it that much with the cost of film!
